Puerto del Carmen is the most established tourist resort in Lanzarote. Like the rest of the Canary Islands, Puerto del Carmen has a twelve month tourist season. Puerto del Carmen grew out of a small fishing harbour, now called the Old Town. The Old Town of Puerto del Carmen is located to the south of the main town which has grown northwards along the main coastal road, also know as The Strip. The property market in Puerto del Carmen is strong and well protected as there are very few new developments being built. Just outside of the town in the direction of Tias is Lanzarote´s newest golf course. This is the area that draws the most interest from both property buyers and people looking for long term rentals and holiday rentals. Most of the properties in Puerto del Carmen are located only a few minutes walk from the beach and all the amenities you could wish for.
