Gography
Cape Verde is situated in the Atlantic Ocean approximately 340km west of Senegal, Africa. Flights take roughly 5 and a half hours to Sal international Airport, from the UK.

Sal, is one of ten islands that make up Cape Verde.

History
Africans (originally brought in under slavery) mixed with Portuguese, English and French, to create a Cape Verdean people. Intermittent periods of drought led to famine and emigration - more Cape Verdeans live overseas than on the Islands.In 1460 Portugals Crown explorers discovered Cape Verde which was then uninhabitted. In 1975 Cape Verde was given independence by Portugal. In 1991 multi-party democracy began.

Cape Verde is a very stable country socially, economically and politically.
